Dong leaves are a type of herbaceous plant that grows to a height of about 1 meter. The leaves are oblong-ovate in shape, large in size, about 10 cm wide, and 35 cm long. The petiole is about 20 cm long, round and hard.
Dong plants thrive in moist, shady areas. They are widely distributed in Thailand, India, China, the Philippines, Myanmar, Indonesia, Bhutan, and Vietnam.
Dong leaves are commonly used in Vietnamese cuisine to wrap food for steaming or boiling. Such as Chung cake, add a distinctive flavor and aroma that enhances the taste of the food.
